As an Indianapolis native, Ashley is a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Organizational Leadership with a higher education concentration from the University of Saint Francis.
Before joining the Marian University Office of Undergraduate Admission in 2011, Ashley served as an AmeriCorps *VISTA member at Tulane University in New Orleans. Due to her work with volunteer recruitment and building relationships with local colleges and universities in New Orleans, Ashley discovered the college admissions profession. Throughout her career, Ashley has overseen recruitment for freshmen, transfer, and international students. Ashley now serves as the director of transfer and international admissions at Marian University, where she oversees all aspects of recruitment for those areas.
Ashley was initially drawn to Marian University due to its location but quickly grew to love the campus community. Consequently, Ashley encourages prospective students to not only visit campus but also to meet with faculty and staff in their areas of interest. In addition to completing campus visits and meeting with individuals in their areas of interest, Ashley also recommends that students learn more about the areas surrounding campus. Too often, students focus exclusively on the campus during their college search, while neglecting the actual college location.
Throughout her professional career, Ashley has been an active member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) and Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling (INACAC). In addition to presenting at conferences, Ashley has served on numerous INACAC committees, including serving as a member of the executive board. Ashley has also participated in the Middle Management Institute and College Board Enrollment Leadership Academy.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys running, reading, exploring downtown Indianapolis, and enjoying the best time of year—college football season.
