Dean's Welcome

What an exciting time it is to be a part of osteopathic medicine! It's my pleasure to welcome you to the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM). MU-COM is dedicated to preparing osteopathic physicians who are committed to the complete healing of individuals' bodies, minds, and spirits and the tenets of osteopathic medicine.

As the nation's first medical school at a Catholic university, we aim to provide an education that "profoundly transforms lives, society, and the world," consistent with our Franciscan sponsorship values: the dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.

In May, we graduated our sixth class of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)—physicians who are prepared to help meet the ever-changing needs of healthcare in Indiana, across the nation, and around the world. The Class of 2022 achieved an incredible 99 percent residency placement rate, with 64 percent of them going into Primary Care

In August, our tenth class of new medical students will begin their journeys toward their callings as osteopathic physicians. None of which would be possible without our fantastic clinical partners across the state, where our student doctors learn and train to be great physicians.

And the excitement does not stop there. This spring, with the support of the entire Marian community, the 2013 Still Society Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial support to medical students striving to meet MU-COM's mission.

The future is bright at MU-COM, where we strive to meet our mission to serve the people of Indiana and develop osteopathic physicians through research, service, and teaching. Whether you are an active member of the MU-COM community or a future member, we thank you for your interest and support.

Sincerely,

Amanda Wright, DO
Dean
